How to fix Apowersoft login issues?
Please troubleshoot the problem by referring to the instructions below.
1. Check if your operating system is Windows 7/8/10
In early years, Microsoft abandoned XP and Vista. Out of security concerns, all Apowersoft programs no longer support them, either. If unfortunately you are running XP or Vista on your computer, you are strongly suggested to update the system to Windows 7, 8 or 10. Otherwise, even though you have installed Apowersoft software, you cannot load the login window. Click here to install Windows 10.
2. Check if your IE browser is version 9 or above
The Apowersoft system runs on IE9 and above version. That’s the reason why we suggest you update your OS to Windows 7/8/10 from XP/Vista as IE browser on Windows XP/Vista can only be upgraded to version 8 at most. If your OS is Windows 7/8/10 but your IE browser is not the version 9 or above version, you cannot load the login window probably. Please follow the steps below to check your IE browser version.
- Open IE browser on your computer.
- Click the gear icon on the top right corner of the browser interface and choose “About Internet Explorer” from the dropdown list.
- Check the IE browser is version 9 or above. If not, you can click here to install IE11 from Microsoft.
After you install IE11, please restart Apowersoft program and check whether you can open the login window now.
If the problem still persists, please open this link (https://support.apowersoft.com/api/client?type=17#test-browser) in your updated IE browser to check the network status, resources and certificates. If there is a big “OK” on the page, it means they are all good. Otherwise, please follow the steps below to check the problems one by one.
i. Reset IE browser
As we have mentioned that Apowersoft system only works with IE browser, some settings of IE browser might make you fail to open the window or log in. At this time, the problem will be resolved after you reset the IE settings.
- Open IE browser on your computer.
- Click the gear icon on the top right corner of the browser interface and choose “Internet options” from the dropdown list.
- Click “Advanced” > “Reset” and click “Reset” in the pop-up window.
- Restart the computer to make the settings work.
Restart the software and check whether you can open the login window now. If the problem still persists, please proceed to the next step.
ii. Reset the security level of IE browser
When the security level is too high, you cannot open some sites in IE. You need to change it to normal level in order to open Apowersoft window.
- Open IE browser and find “Security” in “Internet options”.
- Click “Reset all areas to default level” at the bottom and click “Apply” to complete the settings.
Restart the software and check whether you can open the login window now. If the problem still persists, please proceed to the next step.
iii. Check the proxy settings
If your computer enables proxy service, you cannot open the login window until you disable the proxy service.
- Open IE browser, find “Connection” in “Internet options” and click “LAN settings”.
- Uncheck all three options in the popup and click “OK”.
Restart the software and check whether you can open the login window now. If the problem still persists, please proceed to the next step.
iv. Check the Windows Firewall
Windows Firewall might intercept the login request mistakenly. You can close the Firewall temporarily to fix the problem.
- Open Control Panel.
- Find “Windows Firewall” > “Turn Windows Firewall on or off” in “All Control Panel Items”.
- Check the options “Turn off Windows Firewall(unrecommended)”.
Restart the software and check whether you can open the login window now. If the problem still persists, please proceed to the next step.
v. Check the hosts file
In order to use our software for free, some users automatically or manually change the hosts file on their computer. Such behavior doesn’t help you crack Apowersoft programs but make the software becomes unavailable. On one hand, it disrespects the fruits of the developers’ labors and infringes the copyright of our company. On the other hand, the cracked software is not secure enough which will get your computer infected by viruses. If you tried cracking Apowersoft software once, you have to download and install the correct version from the official website first and then check if the hosts file has been changed.
- Find Notepad on your computer and run it as an administrator.
- Click “File” > “Open”, put “C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts” in the filename bar and press “OK”.
- Check if there are Apowersoft entries in the opened folder. Delete them all and then save the hosts file.
Restart the software and check whether you can open the login window now. If the problem still persists, please proceed to the next step.
vi. Check the certificate
Certificate exceptions will also result in the problem. Please follow the instructions below to check the certificate.
- Open IE browser on your computer.
- Open the link (https://global-root-ca.chain-demos.digicert.com/) in the IE browser. If it opens like the screenshot below shows, it means the certificate is right. Otherwise, please click here to download the certificate.
- Double click the downloaded certificate, click “Install certificate” > “Current user” > “Next step” > “Place all certificates in the following store” > “Browse” > “Trusted Root Certification Authorities” > “Ok”.
After you install the certificate, restart the software and try opening the login window.
3. How to fix the “unknown error”?
If there is an unknown error occurred in the login window or the pop-up error includes the terms “Windows Platform FIPS” and “Cryptography”, it might be the system encryption that caused the problem. It can be fixed by way of the Windows Registry.
- Click here to download the Windows Registry file.
- Double click to install it.
Restart the software and check if you can log in now after it is installed completely.
4. How to fix the blank login window?
If the login window is blank, you can delete the cache file to fix it.
- Open “Resource Manager” or “Computer”.
- Enter “%appdata%\Apowersoft\” in the address bar, find the corresponding software and delete the folder in the opened window.
Restart the software and you can open the login window successfully.
