I am having the same issue, Tried everything, but does not work. There’s no such file Apowersoft_AudioDevice.kext in extensions. Apowersoft_audiodevice keeps highjacking my audio output!

I have been tearing my hair out to overcome this same problem. I deleted every file I could find that appeared related to Apowersoft and still it appeared in Sound preferences and in Audio MIDI.

Then I did a search with FindAnyFile, which seems able to probe corners of the Mac that Spotlight cannot reach, including invisible files. It discovered no fewer than fourteen scattered files with Apowersoft in the name. It enabled me to trash them all, then I emptied the Trash and restarted the Mac. Finally Success! This pestilence has gone.

    The easiest way is:

    1. Open your finder

    2. Search for Apowersoft

    3. Delete all folders and log files than contain apowersoft

    4. Restart

    5. Done, Apowersoft Audio Device gone.

my worst decision is loaded your terrible program. I tried everything written in here but can’t delete it.

     2. Fill in “/System/Library/Extensions” if you are using Mac OS X 10.8, or ” /Library/Extensions” for Mac OS X 10.9 and later, and click “Go”, then delete the file Apowersoft_AudioDevice.kext, then reboot your Mac.

there is no file in there but still, I see apowersoft audio device

    Help me

The program never worked for me so I deleted it but it still shows up as an audio device and I went into finder and did /Library/Extensions but Apowersoft_AudioDevice.kext wasn’t there. I’ve restarted my laptop a bunch and there is no way for me to delete it and it’s getting really annoying having to change all my audio settings every time I try to use my mic and listen to stuff and it keeps defaulting to the input and output device. HELP

Warning lights flashing! Stay away from this app.

As rayj stated, apowersoft will leave many files on your computer even after “uninstalling”. Also had to solve it with FindAnyFile (great app by the way :))

TWO STEP SOLUTION – PROBLEM SOLVED ?!

Firstly, finder could not find apowersoft in my mac because it was deleted even though it showed up in the Sound settings from the Systems Preferences. It was also removed from the Library/Audio/Plug-ins folder.

THIS WAS MY SOLUTION ?! And it worked for me.

    1) I went to Applications, Utilities, Audio MIDI Setup, and saw that apowersoft was checked for sound input, but not sound output. So I changed the sound input to the mac’s internal microphone.

    2) Then I reinstalled apowersoft and it was automatically removed from the Sound settings from the Systems Preferences. Then I deleted apowersoft. The reason why I reinstalled the program was to see if the program came with an uninstall feature, which it did not.

This is where I went to download it before deleting it. https://apowersoft-audio-recorder-for-mac.en.softonic.com/mac/download
